Don't be scared, it's just your Halloween anxiety creeping in
Now that we are over halfway to Halloween, are you feeling a bit anxious? Anxiety is like having a tiny paranoid person living inside your brain who's constantly yelling, "Danger! Danger!" at every little thing.
Or maybe you feel like it's like having a little gremlin on your shoulder who's always whispering worst-case scenarios in your ear. "What if you miss out on this year’s best Halloween collectibles? What if you fail to be in the know? What if a shark attacks you while you're showering?"
Anxiety is like being a detective in a really bad mystery novel. You're constantly looking for clues and trying to solve the case, but you're not sure what the crime even is. And every time you think you've figured it out, a new plot twist comes along and throws you off. It’s like watching social media for all the new Halloween art that is being released this year. You want to make sure you pick up on every clue to know what to add to your collection.
Anxiety is like the creepy guy who shows up to the Halloween party uninvited and won't leave. You know, the one who just stands in the corner staring at you, making you feel uneasy and on edge.
When you're waiting for Halloween, anxiety can be like that guy, lurking in the back of your mind, making you feel nervous and fidgety. You might find yourself checking the calendar every five minutes, worrying about whether your costume will be good enough, and obsessing over whether you'll be able to score enough candy. You worry you will miss the next release of the Johanna Parker Gus. You worry that you won’t score the new Johanna Parker Magenta Witch cookie jar or the super cute witch cream and sugar.
And don't even get me started on the night of Halloween itself. You'll be running around like a headless horseman, checking your phone every two seconds to see if your friends have arrived at the party yet. Your heart will be racing faster than a witch on a broomstick, and you'll be sweating more than a ghost in a sauna.
But hey, don't let anxiety ruin your Halloween fun. Take a deep breath, remind yourself that it's one of the best times of year, and try to enjoy the spooky season. Stay tuned to your favorite artists and see the new Halloween favorites like the LeeAnn Kress Penelope witch or Michelle Allen’s new Boo Ghosts.
